COVID tests on site

If you are neither fully vaccinated nor recovered, or cannot prove your vaccination or recovery with an EU Digital COVID Certificate, you will need a COVID antigen (rapid) test or a conversion of your foreign vaccination certificate to enter the fairgrounds. The rapid tests are valid for 48 hours.

Below you can find out how to get tested on site in Essen. However, as testing capacities on site are limited, we recommend that you get tested before you arrive at the fairgrounds.

 

 

From Wednesday, 10/13/21 to Sunday, 10/17/21, there will be a COVID Testing Center on Logistics Area 1A at Messe Essen, operated by a pharmacist from Essen. The testing center will be located between the entrance to parking lot P6 and the passageway to Hall 1A and will be accessible from the outside (see site plan above). Here, after booking an appointment in advance, both rapid tests and PCR tests (for example for return trips abroad) can be done. You will receive the result of your rapid test after 15 minutes. Foreign visitors and exhibitors who have been fully vaccinated in their home countries with a vaccine valid in the EU can have their vaccination certificate converted into an EU Digital COVID Certificate before the start of the fair or during the event. There is a charge for the conversion per vaccination. Please note that if you have received two vaccine doses, you must submit both – the first and second vaccination – for conversion.
